The Laurel Historical Society has lined up eight stops for its Holiday House Tour, including a renovated business and one of Laurel's oldest churches on Main Street.
The Holiday House Tour, held bi-annually in Laurel's historic district, is Saturday, Dec. 10 from 2-6 p.m. Tourgoers should begin at the Laurel Museum, 817 Main St., where they can pick up illustrated brochures that include a map and a description of each stop, and also serve as a ticket.
First United Methodist Church, the inspiration for this year's holiday ornament being sold at the museum gift shop, is one of the tour stops and will offer light refreshments and musical entertainment.
Most of the tour stops will be walking-distance from Main Street, but one stop—an elegant home built in the 1880s and occupied by one of Laurel's most important early officials—is well worth the short drive.
Advance tickets are $15, available at the Laurel Museum; Main Street Pharmacy, 653 Main St.; Rainbow Florist and Delectables, 370 Main St.; and Hey Red, 651 Main St. On tour day, tickets are only available at the Laurel Museum and cost $18.
