Crime log: Laurel Police report three armed robberies

Laurel police report felonies, arrests and property crimes. Prince George's County police report violent crimes and property crimes. Howard County police report major crimes, break-ins and car thefts.

Eighth Street, 600 block, Jan. 8. Entry gained by forcing open door on storage shed. Yellow and white riding 1 Club Cadet lawn mower and snow blower taken from shed at St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
Nichols Drive, 900 block, Jan. 6. Laurel youth, 16, reported being stopped by two men as he was walking home. Men demanded money while displaying a handgun. Men took victim's Samsung cell phone, Calvin Klein brown jacket and brown hat. One of the men told youth to keep walking. Men fled toward Phillip Powers Drive.
Baltimore Avenue, 14700 block, Jan. 6. Stack Go steering fluid flushing device stolen from storage area at tire store.
Montgomery Street, 400 block, Jan. 6. Kindle Fire Electronic book reader stolen after being delivered to residence door by U.S. Postal Service.
Laurel Place, 14000 block, Jan. 5. Five vehicles broken into while parked at three restaurants. Beretta 9mm handgun, TomTom GPS system, HP laptop computer, computer carrying case, Garmin GPS system and Motorola cell phone stolen.
Montrose Avenue, 300 block, Jan. 4. Money stolen from ATM machine after victim left his ATM card in machine. Bank video shows male driving black Volkswagen using card.
Van Dusen Road, 7400 block, Jan. 3. Power and hand tools stolen from storage trailer.
Second Street, Unit block, Jan. 3. Gray four-door 2012 Hyundai Sonata with Virginia tags stolen. Car leased and never returned to rental agency. Warrant obtained for person who rented vehicle.
Park Avenue, 700 block, Jan. 2. Copper pipes stolen from under vacant house.
Millbrook Lane, 15700 block, Jan. 1. DeWalt generator stolen from bed of truck.
Carissa Lane, 7600 block, Dec. 31. No signs of forced entry. Six Star kitchen knives and Louis Vuitton wallet taken. Sears 12-gauge shotgun that did not belong to homeowners recovered in basement.
Washington Boulevard, 600 block, Dec. 29. Attempted armed robbery at Ace Check Cashing. Employee observed man wearing mask with handgun approaching front and locked door. Man fled with two others in black four-door Nissan Infinity with Maryland tags, heading south on Route 1.
Fifth Street, 800 block, Dec. 29. Apple iPod, money, silver necklace and Beausoleil sunglasses stolen from car.
White Way, 900 block, Dec. 28. Apple iPhone stolen from inside home.
Contee Road, 7800 block, Dec. 27. Entry gained through front door. MacBook Pro computer and Netbook computer taken.
Erica Lane, 7700 block, Dec. 27. Gold ring, 14k, stolen from home by unknown person.
Beall Place, 1100 block, Dec. 25. Daniel Carrillo-Romero, 29, of Laurel, charged with burglary and arson and incarcerated in county detention center. Laurel police responding to call for burglary in progress and fire found home owner visibly shaken. She told police Carrillo-Romero was inside her home and had set fire to wreath between front and storm doors. Police found Carrillo-Romero inside house; he struggled with officers during arrest and was transported to area hospital for smoke inhalation and received treatment.
