A man who said he had a gun attempted to rob the PNC Bank on Main Street Friday, but fled empty-handed.

Laurel Police reported that a man wearing a green New York Yankees baseball hat entered the PNC Bank at 390 Main St. about 10:50 a.m., and passed a note to a teller demanding money. Police said the man told the teller that he had a gun, but after the teller confronted the man about actually having a gun, the suspect fled.

Police said no injuries were reported.
