Laurel Police have charged two suspects in a November robbery that sent a 65-year-old Laurel man to the hospital with five broken ribs and internal bleeding.
Tonio Cox, 21, of Laurel, and a 14-year-old male were charged with robbery and first degree assault. Laurel Police said both have charges pending in surrounding jurisdictions.
Police said the victim was walking from his apartment in the 300 block of Thomas Drive Nov. 18 when he was approached by two males, who hit him several times with their fists and took money from his pocket. The incident occurred at dusk near a fence that leads to Fourth Street.
The victim is expected to make a full recovery, police said.
