A Baltimore Gas and Electric contractor will begin trimming city trees along power lines in two locations this week, according to city officials.
BGE contractor Mercer Tree Service Inc. will trim trees along Fourth and Ninth streets as part of BGE's four-year schedule for trimming trees along power lines.
Tree branches will be trimmed 6 to 10 feet away from power lines, city officials said, and some roads may have lanes closed during the work. Employees from Laurel Department of Public Works will work with the contractor to keep the impact on traffic to a minimum, city officials said.
