Knetha and Sean Wallace
F. Ronald McCord and Patricia McCord, of Sarasota, Fla., announce the marriage of their daughter, Knetha Noelle McCord, to Sean William Wallace, son of Marilyn Wallace, of Converse, Texas, and the late Larry W. Wallace, on July 9, 2011.
The bride earned a Bachelor of Science in early childhood education from Florida State University, in Tallahasse, and a Master of Arts in applied linguistics from the University of South Florida, in Tampa. She is employed by the Howard County Public School System as an ESOL teacher at Laurel Woods Elementary School, in North Laurel.
The groom earned a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from Texas State University, in San Marcos. He is employed as the copy desk chief at Patuxent Publishing, the publisher of this newspaper.
A wedding was held at the Crocker Memorial Church, in Sarasota, before about 100 family members and close friends. The Rev. Dr. Rick Nations officiated. A reception followed at the Sarasota Garden Club.
Melinda Cowgill, of Fort Collins, Colo., was the maid of honor. Rich Killmon, of Woodbridge, Va., was the best man. Lily McCord, of Atlanta, and Kaitlin McCord, of Sarasota, were the flower girls. Ryan McCord, of Atlanta, was the ring bearer.
The couple honeymooned in the Canadian cities of Ottawa, Ontario and Montreal and Quebec City, Quebec. They reside in Bowie.
