Mary Ann Scully, chairman, president and CEO of Howard Bank, was elected to serve as the Maryland Bankers Association's 2011-2012 chairman. An active member of the association, Scully has also served as chairman of the Government Relations Council and Maryland BankPAC. 

Scully, of West Friendship, was one of the founding officers of Howard Bank and headed its organizing committee before the bank opened in 2004.

Scully chairs the Columbia Foundation's board of trustees and also serves on the board of trustees of Howard County General Hospital. In 2007, Scully was inducted into the Howard County Women's Hall of Fame and was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the Howard County Chamber of Commerce.

Bill Howard, a senior vice president with 1st Mariner Bank, and Traci McPhail, a marketing specialist with Central Maryland Regional Transit, were named to Neighbor Ride's Board of Directors on July 1. Neighbor Ride is a volunteer-based nonprofit providing older county residents with transportation for health care appointments, cultural and social outings, shopping, volunteering, fitness activities, religious services and other personal needs.
