Murray Hill band to celebrate 15 years with greatest hits concert

It's been 15 years now since Murray Hill Middle School opened its doors and starting teaching our students here in North Laurel. Many of the faces in the building have changed, but luckily for us, one has not.

Kathy Hersey started teaching band and creating a very special bond with her students. Band was always fun and interesting. She even created the school's own "Murray Hill March." On Nov. 16, the Murray Hill wind ensemble will be performing a concert for its 15th anniversary celebration of Murray Hill Band Hits in the cafeteria at 7 p.m.

All Alum and families are invited. Those interested can play "Novena" with the ensemble. Hersey is also looking for any written stories from past students about their band experiences. This should be a very fun event. I hope many past students will attend. If you want to send a story to Hersey, email her at Kathy_Hersey@hcpss.org.
