Dancing for better health [Marriottsville/Sykesville/Woodstock]

Howard County Times

Calvary Lutheran Church in Mt. Airy is proud to host the fifth annual community dance for people of all abilities on Saturday, July 14, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Featuring an awesome D.J., Calvary will be rocking and rolling that night. Anyone can enjoy dancing regardless of age or background, whether they are disabled or non-disabled, and no matter their size or shape! Dancing has multiple health benefits. Our community dance helps improve dancers’ sense of well-being, builds social skills and confidence, and reduces a sense of isolation and exclusion. There will be light refreshments served and new this year will be an optional parent/caregiver information and discussion session to address DDA and Medicaid Services. Entry fee is $5, payable at the door, but please RSVP to reserve your ticket by contacting Calvary Lutheran at 410-489-5280 or Jennifer at jennibeck@comcast.net. This year’s dance is sponsored by Optimal Health Care Inc. and Calvary Lutheran Church.
