Bronze medal brings cheers to Marriotts Ridge high

Congratulations to the Marriotts Ridge High School Varsity cheerleaders who won a bronze medal at the Maryland State Cheerleading Championships. Congratulations also to the HCSHA All-Conference Team players from MRHS. On the first All-Conference team, forward: junior Sean Jone; defense: senior Harrison Silverston; and goalie: senior Alex Stella. Congratulations to all the athletes on a job well done!

Granite Presbyterian Church in Woodstock will host its pancake dinner on Saturday, March 5, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. All proceeds from the dinner will go to the Deacons of Granite so their support and outreach to local missions can continue. Saint Alphonsus Rodriguez Catholic Church in Woodstock will host its St. Patrick’s Day celebration on Saturday, March 16, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person or $60 per family with children under the age of 18. Included in that price is a corned-beef dinner with dessert, light snacks and drinks. Music by a DJ. There will also be games of chance, a 50/50 raffle and many game wheels to win fun prizes.

Spring is right around the corner and it’s time to start thinking about planting outside.
