By now, most of us have our electricity back on and have been spending some time cleaning up from Hurricane Irene. Someone described Irene to me as "a tree cleanup storm."
For us, that seemed to describe it perfectly. We didn't experience any major damage, but we had lots of tree branches in the yard.
Howard County will take most of your storm debris on your normal trash day. Yard debris must be bagged, canned or bundled. Each item must weigh less than 40 lbs. Branches must be less than 4 inches in diameter and cut down to 4 inches in length. Hopefully, our curbside pickup will save many of us time since we won't have to make dump runs.
