Turkey and fried oysters offered family-style

The Howard Chapel-Ridgeville UM Church will hold its annual turkey and fried oyster dinner served family-style on Nov. 12, from 1 to 5 p.m.A bake table offered by the parishioners will be available. The cost is $18 for adults and $8 for children ages 6 to 12. Carry-outs are available for $19. The church is at 1970 Long Corner Road, Mount Airy.The dining area is handicapped accessible. For a new dining experience visit Bolders at 17004 Frederick Road in Mount Airy. This new restaurant replaces the old Drover's but with a new rustic look including a stone and wood interior enhanced by a beautiful fireplace. As weather allows, for those who prefer, a fully-landscaped patio diningarea is available. The cuisine is primarily American traditional with beef and seafood dishes being the specialties. Entrees range in price from $15 to $28.

The general manager who oversees all phases of the food preparation, from purchasing to serving, is Ellie Ennis who has spent 30 years in the restaurant business, the last 25 of which were at the Coho Grille in Columbia. She is known for some unique dishesincluding white chicken chile and crabby green fried tomatoes. Her jumbo lump crab cakes are touted as the best in the area. Reservations are accepted, but not required. Hours are Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays from 4:30 to 10 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.The facility has space for parties of up to 60 people and outside catering is available.For further information check the Bolder website atBolder144.comor call 410-489-2491.
