The gathering to celebrate the 40 years since the Glenelg High School Class of 1976 graduated was a great success, thanks to lots of hard work by the committee members. Barbara Feaga Larimore, Claire Crocker, Becky Brown Hahn, Joel Isaacs, Micki Krug Isaacs, Charlie Rosewag, Jeanie Hutchinson and Scott Paton planned a wonderful celebration which helped everyone to re-connect.
Fifty-three classmates attended the reunion, with members coming from all around the country. Classmates traveling the farthest distance were Karen Shimer Neklason who came from California, Tim Topper from Florida, Bobbie Jo Justice from Ohio, and Devona Hill from North Carolina. It was a lot of fun sharing old memories and creating new ones. If you know a member of the Class of 1976 who was unable to attend, please contact Barb at bflarimore@gmail.com to get their name on the list so they don't miss the fun at the next reunion.
Congratulations to Glenelg High School for making Newsweek's list of the top public high schools in the United States for 2016. Glenelg was ranked 273 in data which shows how well each school prepares students for college.
Lynne Quinn invites everyone to attend the Italian Feast at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Glenwood on Thursday, Sept. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. Dinner costs $9 per person with a cap of $30 for a family, and you can dine in or take the food home with you. Children five and under eat for free. Smokin' Hot Bar & Grille in Glenwood donates the food, and it's always good. This month, all of the proceeds will be given to The Ellicott City Partnership, dedicated to restoring Old Town Ellicott City.
