Musical theater workshop
The Columbia community theater troupe Silhouette Stages will host a musical theater audition workshop Nov. 2, 7-9:30 p.m., at Slayton House in the Wilde Lake Village Center. The workshop will be led by Michael Tan, the musical director of many musicals and theatrical groups in the greater Baltimore area. Tan will teach actors about what to do and what not to do in auditions, how to create an audition book and how to find new music.
Tan will also conduct a master class, where most in attendance at this session will get an opportunity to perform an audition song. Actors should come with prepared musical pieces, both up-tempo and ballad, and with sheet music in the correct key. The workshop is limited to 20 performers ages 16 and older. Admission is $40.
To register, email troupe founder Mo Dutterer at ssqq@comcast.net for a registration form.
