Howard Stampede Elite

In what was their toughest contest of the year, the Stampede Elite team battled North Carroll Elite and ended up on the short end of a 1-0 loss. Stampede carried the play most of the day with a 6-3 advantage in offensive corners.

Early on the front line of Caleigh Covell, Carly Clarke, Maddie Zehring, Lexi Rieu and Julia Sheehan did everything but score. The ball was in the North Carroll end for most of the first half and Stampede registered seven shots but could not score.

The second half was more back and forth. North Carroll pressed into the Stampede end several times and the defensive corp of Megan Hooper, Lexi Sounder, Denise Lin and Mary Monroe creaked the ball up field and out of harms way. Noelle Frost had her best game of the season making several amazing saves to keep the game scoreless.

Finally, with 10 minutes to play, North Carroll scored the game's only goal off of an offensive corner. Other standouts for Stampede were Gabby Cadoux, Bridgett Cavanaugh, Natalie Fyock and Grace Olson.
