Golf: Centennial boys down River Hill for seventh straight win

The Centennial boys are quietly hanging around.

After losing their season opener against Wilde Lake, the Eagles have rolled off seven straight wins to keep themselves in the county championship conversation. The most recent victory came Wednesday, where Centennial knocked off River Hill, 88-78.

Junior Connor Flach has been at the forefront of the team's surge this fall and he was leading the way against the Hawks as well, putting up a one-under-par round of 28 points. It was the second straight round of 28 by Flach, who had also shot one-under a day earlier against Oakland Mills.

In the River Hill match, Mike Humphrey put together a good round of his own to give the Eagles two guys in the 20s. The sophomore fired a round 23 points. Centennial's other two scorers were Sahil Mehta (19 points) and Matt McShane (18).
