Girls soccer: Chapelgate give up a goal but not a win

Baltimore Lutheran did something no other league has been able to do against Chapelgate this fall: score a goal.

But one wasn't enough to sidetrack the league-leading Chapelgate Yellowjackets.

Chapelgate beat Lutheran, 5-1, led by Kristin Thomas and Lydia Frierson.

Thomas had a hat trick (three goals) and Frierson scored twice to add to her school record-setting performance.

Frierson also had an assist.

Jennifer Lindauere had one assist. Casey Bigelow had five saves and Andelyn Smith had one in the win.

The Yellowjackets have won nine straight games and have a 7-0 record in the C Conference of the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland.

Injury sidelines keeper

Atholton keeper Amy Weinberg is out for the season following a collision in the Raiders' game against Long Reach earlier this week, according to coach Stephanie Stoutenborough.

Weinberg's collar bone was broken in the collision, said the coach, and she suffered a concussion. "She was sent to Shock Trauma, but is doing much better now," added Stoutenborough.

Atholton won the game, 4-0, with goals by Sarah Renehan (2), Desiree Bodziony and Maddie Boccio.

Katrina Macadoff and Michele Hart had one assist each in the win.

Other games

Wilde Lake lost, 2-0, to North Harford.
