Meghan Milani had two goals, Megan Taylor had two goals, Meagan Guthrie had an assist, Morgan Philie had a goal and Maribeth Blonchek converted a penalty stroke as Glenelg overpowered River Hill, 10-1.

The game pitted last year's Class 2A (Glenelg) and 3A (River Hill) state champions against each other and two teams that play different styles.

Glenelg took control of the game early when Milani (two) and Stephanie Asher combined to score three goals in four minutes.

"That depleted our confidence," said River Hill's Nina Collins.

While the score was lopsided, the game didn't seem that way. It was intense from the very beginning.
