Western Howard County Fever travel
The Western Howard County Fever 13-U continued their successful 2011 campaign with a second place finish at the ASA 14-U "B" states held June 18-19 in Laurel. This finish earned the team their seventh national berth of their 2010-2011 campaign.
The team battled through seven games over the two days and stayed focused in their game play.
As a young team in a 14-U bracket, the Fever regularly faced older and more experienced players on the opposing teams. However, they showed no fear and focused on the task at hand. The final two games were a battle, and while the Fever ultimately lost the championship game, it did so with aggressive play in the field and at bat.
The championship game down to the wire. The game was tied at the end of regulation play which forced a tie-breaker, that ultimately did not go the Fever's way.
The team averaged nearly six runs a game and allowed less than two over the weekend. Every player contributed to the outcome. Players on the team are Kinsey Johnson, Courtney Colosimo, Morgan O'Bryhim, Sharon Mielke, Abby Zalucki, Nellie Hines, Claire Swan, Quinn Allee-Press, Kallan Dirmeyer, Kayla Devin and Sabrina Curtiss.
Soccer

The midfield was controlled by Nathan Borowski, Nick Borsh, Tyler D'Anna, Casey Fleishell, Ryan Hoshko and Felix Munther-Andersen and created offensive opportunities for front line of Jonathan Horrocks and Zach Rodriguez.
