Washington, D.C.-based guitarist Patty Reese will leave her band behind and perform as part of the Patty Reese Duo Thu., Aug. 4, 6 p.m., at the Dorsey's Search Village Center. The Columbia Village Centers Courtyard concert series will continue with Misspent Youth playing classic rock Fri., Aug. 5, 6 p.m., at the River Hill Village Center.

Columbia-based jazz vocalist Gail Marten will perform Thu., Aug. 4, 8 p.m., at the Lake Kittamaqundi Lakefront. The Billy Coulter Band will blend roots rock and power pop Sat., Aug. 6, 8 p.m., at the lakefront. Mad City sounds

A new Day at Baldwin's

Auditions

Act on an 'Island'

The Red Branch Theatre Company is seeking actors, singers and dancers for its October production of the musical "Once on This Island." The troupe will hold auditions Mon., Aug. 8, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at its home base at the Drama Learning Center, 9130-I Red Branch Road, Columbia.

The group is seeking an ethnically diverse cast, and looking to fill several principal and ensemble roles, such as that of Tonton Julian, a 30-something male baritone; Asaka, a female gospel singer; and Ti Moune, a female in her early 20s. Some roles will be paid a small stipend.
