•Fall Foliage on the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad. Sat., Oct. 15, 7:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Motor coach to Cumberland and spend some time at the C&O Canal Museum, then it is off to the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad for a 17-mile, one-way excursion to Frostburg. Go to the Thrasher Carriage Museum, have lunch at Hotel Gunther and explore the hotel museum afterward. Head back down the mountain with a stop at Candyland for old fashion candy and fresh fruit before heading home. Six years old and older. $124.

•Fort McHenry. Wed., Oct. 19, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Fort McHenry is best known for its role in the War of 1812 when it successfully defended itself from an attack by the British Navy.
