A Baltimore County man whom police had been searching for since March has been arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder, according to the Howard County Sheriff's Office.
Damon Stanley Robinson, 38, of 2813 Lindin Way, surrendered without incident Monday, Aug. 15 to authorities in Jessup, the sheriff's office said. He also has been charged with first-degree assault, according to online court records.
Howard County police had been looking for Robinson since a March 25 hospital interview with his wife, Tyra S. Robinson. The 36-year-old Columbia resident told investigators that Damon Robinson wrapped his hands around her neck and squeezed until she passed out, according to charging documents.
The couple was separated, but he had spent the previous evening with her and their child and was staying there for the night, according to charging documents. She told police that, prior to the attack, he had wakened her and confronted her about a text message she had sent to another man, according to charging documents.
Robinson is being held at the Howard County Detention Center in Jessup on $250,000 bond, according to online records.
Robinson is also facing a robbery charge in Warren County, Va., police said. He is accused of entering a bank inside a Walmart in Front Royal on Aug. 12, and handing a teller a note demanding money, according to The Northern Virginia Daily.
