In my career with the Howard County Public School System, I had the opportunity to work with many dedicated advocates for education. I had the privilege of watching one of them, Courtney Watson, grow from concerned parent who wanted a fence between the playground and parking lot at Ilchester Elementary School, to a community organizer for additional schools, to a school board chairman overseeing the system at a challenging time of transition, to a County Council member who has kept education a priority in the county budget.
Her genuine passion for improving education has never wavered during her long track record of support for our school system. I can think of no better person to ensure continued success for Howard County schools and to lead Howard County as our next county executive.
