Dyer defends the law while Ulman, Sigaty defend status quo

I'm a little surprised that County Executive Ken Ulman and Councilwoman Mary Kay Sigaty would comment on the efforts of school board member Allen Dyer to require the board to operate in compliance with the requirements of open meetings laws. But I'm shocked that both of them came down on the side of the law-flouting board majority instead of supporting Dyer, the lone — and lonely — board member who insists that the law be followed.

The "go-along-to-get-along" approach has led to many of the ills we see at all levels of government. It is sad to see it showing up in Howard County.
