Long Reach's season ended at the hands of visiting Patuxent on Wednesday, 25-15, 22-25, 25-21, 25-19.
Cailin Fredrickson (nine kills), Jessica Dubbs (18 digs), Shelby Fredrickson (15 assists) and Alison Dorsey (two aces) led the eighth seeded Lightning (2-12) in the loss.
Patuxent will now face top-seeded Glenelg in Monday's quarterfinal round. The Gladiators earned a first round bye and the top seed by finishing 11-2 in league play.
No. 4 Marriotts Ridge (9-6) swept visiting Southern, and will host 12th seeded McDonough on Monday.
Friday, Nov. 4 match:
No. 10 Oakland Mills (2-13) defeated No. 7 Gwynn Park, 25-14, 25-8, 25-8.
The Scorpions served 30 aces, including 12 by Asma Quayumi. Shannen McKay had five kills and Heidi Larsen had 10 assists. Oakland Mills will now visit No. 2 Calvert on Monday in an attempt to avenge last year's playoff loss.
No. 7 Howard (6-9) swept No. 10 Wilde Lake (4-11), 25-17, 25-14, 25-21. During the regular season, the Lions beat the Wildecats, 3-1. Howard will now face second-seeded J.M. Bennett in the quarterfinals on Monday.
No. 6 Reservoir (11-4) swept No. 11 Annapolis, 25-8, 25-10, 25-10, and will now visit third-seeded Stephen Decatur on Monday.
No. 1 River Hill (13-1) and No. 4 Atholton (10-5) advanced with byes in the opening round.
No. 8 Mt. Hebron (8-6) swept Northeast, and will now visit the top-seeded Hawks on Monday. Mt. Hebron was one of only three teams to win a set against county champion River Hill during league play.

No. 5 Centennial (11-4) end No. 12 Hammond's (4-12) season, 25-4, 25-15, 25-16.
Trisha Mockapetris and Jessie Link had seven kills each for Centennial, and Sara Przybyla had three blocks. Jamie Fabling was 13-for-13 from the service line with two aces, while Grace Chao (4) and Kristen Ritchie (3) combined for seven more aces. Lexi White-Torruellas had 13 assists, and Anna Kearns led the defense with 12 digs.
The Eagles advance to face Atholton on Monday. Atholton defeated Centennial Sept. 27, ending the Eagles' 49-match league play winning streak.
