Columbia swimmers turn in strong times at Chesapeake Bay Swim

Several Columbia Swimmers participated in the Chesapeake Bay Swim held June 9 with notable results. In the one-mile swim, Sabrina Elshafei was the first female overall with a winning time of 18 minutes, 20 seconds. She was also ranked sixth overall among all 441 participants (male or female). Sabrina is finishing her junior year at Atholton High School.

The winner of the Masters (age 40+) division was Emad Elshafei with a time of 18:19 and he was ranked fifth overall. Other Columbia swimmers winning their age groups were: Michele Tuttle (Female, 50-55, 22:27) and Reginald Hahne (Male, 55-59, 19:06).
