Musical Madness 5k

Winners of this year's Musical Madess 5k Run — Eric Schuler and Robyn Humphrey — are no strangers to the podium. Humphrey, also the women's champion in last year's race, was joined this year by second- and third-place finishers Caroline Bauer and Pat Wilkerson, making it a sweep for the Howard County Striders team in the women's race.

Schuler, now studying at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, won the 2009 Musical Madness while still a student at Reservoir. He was followed by Jeremy Rea and Ashish Rathee. Musical Madness is a fundraiser for music programs at Reservoir High School.

DU2R Multisport had a great weekend with athletes placing in a number of events.

Judi Carbary was fourth in her age group at the ITU World Sprint Triathlon in San Diego. Lisa Levin-Riechmann was the first woman at the Ft. Ritchie Duathlon.

Mark Johnson placed first in his age group at the Cascade Lake Du.

At the Watkins Glen F1 Du, Patrick (20-24), Adam (25-29) and Don Forgione (60-64) all won their respective age group.

Chuck Potter placed fourth in the Kinetic Aqua Velo (swim/bike) race.

Kangaroo Kids

Twenty-three members of the Kangaroo Kids competition team participated in the AAU Maryland Qualifier Tournament May 12 at the Meadowbrook Athletic Complex. There were 58 jumpers representing teams from Maryland, New Jersey and Virginia.

The top 10 jumpers in each age division qualified to compete at the AAU Junior Olympics this summer in Houston.

All Pro All Stars

The All Pro All Stars Cheer and Dance teams of Elkridge had a fantastic showing at the US Finals Cheerleading and Dance national competition on May 5-6 in Virginia Beach, Va. The All Pro All Stars concluded their 2011-2012 season with four unbelievable performances. Team Sparkle (Junior Level 1 Cheerleading) won second place, Team Dazzle (Senior Level 2 Cheerleading Category) placed fifth, Team Flash (Junior Hip Hop Category) placed seventh and Team Twinkle – (Mini Hip Hop Category) won fourth place.
