Cheerleading: Marriotts Ridge finishes second in regional meet, advances to states

For the first time in Marriotts Ridge school history, the cheerleading team has advanced to the state meet. The Mustangs placed second in Thursday's South Region competition.

Chesapeake (Anne Arundel) won the South Region with 128.10 points. Marriotts Ridge (127.85), South River (127.40), Broadneck (125.95) and North Point (123.40) followed. All advance to the state competitition.

Long Reach, Glenelg and River Hill did not make the cut.

Wednesday's inclement weather caused both the North and South Regional meets to be postponed. That, in turn, caused the state meet, originally schduled for Saturday, to be pushed to next Wednesday.
