The Howard County Community Action Council will hold its seventh annual Thanksgiving turkey distribution on Nov. 22.

Between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at St. John Baptist Church in Columbia, families that have received support from the CAC in the past year will be eligible to pick up "a turkey and all the trimmings that it takes to make a very nice Thanksgiving dinner," CAC President Bita Dayhoff said.

The CAC has seen need in the county surge in the last three years, and Dayhoff said her organization hopes to serve 600 families at the event.

Eligible families who wish to receive a Thanksgiving basket should contact the organization at 410-313-6440 to receive a ticket.

St. John Baptist Church is located at 9055 Tamar Drive.
