June 2004: Merriweather under new management

IMP, the new management of Merriweather Post Pavilion, is making changes to make the concert experience more fun and filling the summer scedule in order to have a more successful season. These changes include decorating the grounds with sculptures, expanding the food menu to include Sushi, fresh salads, wraps and fruit, margaritas and on site barbecue. Another new idea is to aloow a catering service to provide pre-paid picnic dinner baskets to be pick-up after arrival to Merriweather Post Pavilion. Alexia Nestora, right, director of Marketing with Marvelous Market, of Fairfax, Va., hands pre-ordered sandwiches, salad, beverages and deserts to Mara Senn, center, of Bethesda, who ordered pre-made dinner basket for 12 co-workers, including herself and Rosa Evergreen, left, who attended a Harry Connick, Jr., concert.
