McDonogh School Headmaster Charlie Britton has announced that seniors Riana Patel, of Cooksville; William Plowe, of Columbia, and Samuel Shafley, of Cooksville, have been named Commended Students in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program.

In addition, Nancy Holt, of Woodstock, and Donald McGill, of Columbia, have been recognized as an Outstanding Participant in the National Achievement Scholarship Program.
