2011 Volunteer of the Year Call for Nominees — Howard County Executive Ken Ulman and members of the County Council are seeking nominees for the 2011 Volunteer of the Year awards program, which recognizes individuals (youth and adults), nonprofit groups and agencies, or businesses that have demonstrated commitment and dedication to the community. Nominees must be either residents of Howard County or do their volunteer work in Howard County, and their efforts should have an impact on an individual or the community. For individual nominations, the nominated service must be performed outside the scope of the nominee's paid employment. Deadline for nominations is Sept. 16.
