Joshua Montgomery and Carlos Riveros Jr., both of Columbia, each received a $2,500 Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans scholarship in June for their perseverance in overcoming adversity while succeeding academically, contributing to the community and exhibiting exemplary character.
