Rachael Herrera and Joseph Schwartz
Anne and Corky Franklin, of Ellicott City, and Dr. Alfredo Herrera, of Catonsville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Rachael Elizabeth Herrera, to Joseph Gregory Schwartz, son of Gregory and Tina Schwartz. of Burlington, Ky.
The bride-to-be, a 2002 graduate of River Hill High School in Howard County, graduated from the University of Maryland in 2006.
She earned a master's degree in education from Loyola University Maryland and is a school counselor at Forest Ridge Elementary School, in Howard County.
The future groom, a 1998 graduate of Conner High School, in Hebron, Ky., graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2002.
He earned a master's degree in applied mechanics from the University of Virginia and is a senior engineer for Alion Science and Technology.
A July wedding is planned for in Washington.
