An event believed to be the first of its kind for the Catonsville Senior Center proved to be a winner Friday.

More than 75 participants from the Arbutus, Catonsville, Lansdowne-Baltimore Highlands, Liberty, Pikesville and Woodlawn senior centers took part in a regional game day at the Catonsville on North Rolling Road.

The board game area proved the most popular, according to Nicole Sheehan, director of the Catonsville center.

She said that area attracted 20 people to play Scrabble and Sequence, among others.

A Wii bowling tournament, billiards and cards each drew 16 participants.

Chess and checkers also attracted their share.

Given the number of enthusiastic responses about the event from members of several different senior centers, Sheehan said the Catonsville facility will likely host another event in the future.
