Grilled Cheese Co. makes Ravens regular season debut

Though the Grilled Cheese Co. has appeared at M& T Bank Stadium before, Sunday's Steelers-Ravens season-opener marks the regular-season debut for the Catonsville-based company.

The Grilled Cheese Co. will not have a full menu at its stand along the Ravens Walk for fans entering the stadium for the 1 p.m. contest.

But four of its signature sandwiches, the original, the Crabby Melt, the Kickin' BBQ Chicken and the BCT, a sandwich filled with bacon, cheddar and tomato, will be available to feed hungry football fans on their way in, said co-owner Scott Pevenstein.

"We're all Baltimore boys," Pevenstein said of the company's four co-owners. "We're really excited to be part of the hometown team with our company."

The restaurant already has experience along the Ravens Walk, getting its pans dirty serving up its sandwiches at the NCAA Lacrosse Final Four, Monster Jam and the Ravens preseason games, Pevenstein said.

Despite the high temperatures that accompanied those spring and summer events, Pevenstein said the sandwiches were still a big hit.

"It couldn't be going better," Pevenstein said. "We were pleasantly surprised that there was a line when it was that hot. People love to eat grilled cheese."
