Catonsville councilman correct in supporting development plan for medical building

Thanks to Councilman Tom Quirk for his forward thinking in supporting the Southwest Physicians Pavilion PUD on Kenwood Avenue ("Councilman offers bills related to PUD development," Catonsville Times, Sept. 28).

This $24 million investment will provide jobs, tax revenue and a bounty of community benefits, including sidewalks and traffic management.

This is truly Smart Growth, building where infrastructure already exists.

Councilman Quirk is an advocate for the environment and has carefully balanced development with preservation.

I live in the Kenwood Gardens Condos and look forward to walking to my doctor appointments.
