Letter: Catonsville Santa House celebrates best season ever

During the 2012 holiday season, the Catonsville Santa House enjoyed its greatest season ever.

More than 2,000 people attended the Nov. 24 Christmas tree lighting, where the Catonsville High School field hockey team led the countdown.

Tom Booth's family was honored during the fireworks display, provided by the Catonsville Celebrations Committee, while the Catonsville Ravens Club supplied cookies and hot chocolate.

More than 1,000 children visited the Santa House, where they received gift bags, collected by the Greater Catonsville Chamber of Commerce.

Participating in assembling those donations were the Catonsville Arts and Crafts Festival Committee, John Flinton, Reba Streaker, Jo Lewis, River's Edge Community Church, Mary Martinson, Colton and Amber Wartman and Pat Hatch.

The Santa House has a number of great sponsors and supporters who contribute to its maintenance and offer funds for special occasions.

The Students Sharing Committee, from Catonsville High School, sent 27 students to clean and stain the house.

We thank Westowne Elementary School's art classes for making decorations for the tree and house.

In appreciation for their efforts, I encourage you to patronize the following sponsors throughout the new year: Mohler and Gary Realtors, Brother Services and Catonsville Ravens Club as premium donors.

Other sponsors include GCCC, Iggy Homes, J.W. Treuth, Russell and Craig Witzke, Donald Mohler, Tom Corbitt and Scittino's Italian Marketplace.
