Catonsville resident, a senior at Archbishop Curley, recognized for score on National Merit Scholarship test

Catonsville resident Derek Wiegmann, a senior at Archbishop Curley High School, received a Letter of Commendation for his score on the National Merit Scholarship test.

In addition to belonging to the Franciscan Youth Ministry, he plays double bass in the school's concert band and jazz combo.

Wiegmann worships at Our Lady of Victory Church.

The National Merit Scholarship Corp. included Victoria Davenport, of Western School of Technology and Environmental Science, among the semifinalists in the National Achievement Scholarship Progam, which recognizes scholastically talented African-American students nationwide.
