Crime log: Man caught trying to steal 44 tires from Mr. Tire store

Edmondson Avenue, 6100 block, 9:17 p.m., March 24. Driver pulled into Sunoco gas station and was getting out of his vehicle when a man came up from behind him, pushed him back into vehicle and demanded his wallet. Driver gave man his wallet. Man stabbed driver in back of the neck with a pick. Wallet stolen.


Brookside Drive, 200 block, 7:30-9 p.m., March 24. Ladder in backyard used to gain entrance to residence. TV stolen.

Westchester Avenue, 2800 block, 7:40 a.m.-6:13 p.m., March 23. Rear door of residence forced open. Two jewelry boxes and jewelry stolen.

Wilkens Avenue, 4600 block, between 6 p.m., March 20 and 5 p.m., March 22. Lock of garage outside residence broken. Four tires and rims stolen.

Edmondson Avenue, 2300 block, 1:25 p.m., March 21. Toilet at Catonsville Middle School set on fire.

McCurley Avenue, 1300 block, 9 a.m.-12:09 p.m., March 21. Ornament stolen from bedroom of residence.

Frederick Road, unit block, 6:25-6:31 a.m., March 21. Two men entered High's Dairy Store grabbed a cup of coffee and a soda. One man walked around counter and attempted to open register. When he failed, he told the clerk to do so and threatened to kill her. Man stole money and drinks and left with second man.

Elm Ridge Avenue, 900 block, between 11 p.m., March 19 and 5 a.m., March 20. Wallet and keys stolen from residence.

Baltimore National Pike, 6300 block, 10:34 p.m., March 19. Man found removing 44 tires from fenced-in yard of Mr. Tire. Man arrested and charged with two counts of theft and fourth-degree burglary. Tires recovered.


Baltimore National Pike, 6400 block, between Jan. 12 and 9:30 a.m., March 19. Window frame of United States Coast Guard recruiting office found dented, possibly from a bullet.

Academy Road, 500 block, 3-6 p.m., March 17. Bicycle stolen from backyard.
