Baltimore County to accept household hazardous waste items Sunday

Baltimore County will hold a special, one-day collection event for household hazardous waste item on Sunday, Nov. 4, at the Baltimore County Western Acceptance Facility, 3310 Transway Road, in Halethorpe.

The  collection event, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., is hosted by the Baltimore Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability in cooperation with the county police, fire and public works departments.


County residents may bring:

• household paints and chemicals,


• lawn and garden chemicals,

• automotive fluids,

• cleaning solvents,

• swimming pool chemicals,

• re-chargeable batteries,

• medicines,

• mercury thermometers and thermostats,

• fluorescent light bulbs,


• fireworks and ammunition.

No trash will be accepted.

The county's household hazardous waste collection facility at the Eastern Sanitary Landfill, located at 6259 Days Cove Road in White Marsh, is open Monday through Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through November.
