The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations named Community College of Baltimore County President Sandra Kurtinitis as winner of its 2011 Pacesetter Award, according to a release from the school.
In her sixth year as president, Kurtinitis received the award during the District 1 conference last month for her leadership and support of marketing and public relations, the release stated.
The release goes on to say that in winning one of the seven district awards, Kurtinitis became a finalist for the national award the council will present at its national conference in San Francisco in March.
The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations represents marketing and public relations professionals in community and technical colleges, according to its website.
The council, headquartered in Colorado, has approximately 1,550 members from more than 650 colleges in the United States, Canada and other countries, its website stated.
