Baltimore County residents can dispose of household hazardous items Sunday, Nov. 6.

Baltimore County's Western Acceptance Facility, at 3310 Transway Road, off Hollins Ferry Road in Halethorpe, will accept household hazardous waste items during a special one-day collection event Sunday, Nov. 6.

During the event, county residents can safely dispose of household paints and chemicals, lawn and garden chemicals, automotive fluids, cleaning solvents, swimming pool chemicals, re-chargeable batteries, medicines, mercury thermometers and thermostats, fluorescent light bulbs, fireworks and ammunition.

No trash will be accepted at this event.

The free event, scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., is hosted by the Baltimore County Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability in cooperation with the county's police, fire and public works departments.
