Police seek man who robbed Catonsville Comfort Inn Aug. 26

Baltimore County police have asked the public's help in identifying the man who robbed the Comfort Inn at 5801 Baltimore National Pike on the evening of Aug. 26.

According to a release from county police, a man entered the hotel at 6:20 p.m. that Friday, implied he had a weapon and demanded money from the clerk.

The man then ordered the clerk to get on the ground and ran off with the money, police said.

Police detectives believe he is also responsible for the attempted robbery of a Macy's in Security Square Mall in Woodlawn Sept. 1, based on surveillance images from the scenes.

Police said the man brought an item for the clerk to ring up at 9:10 p.m., then demanded money once the register opened, police said.

The cashier fled, and the man did not get any money, according to police.

He is described as black, between 40 and 50 years old, 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds with a dark complexion and short hair.
