During this reflective season, let us count our personal blessings and give thanks individually. Also, we join together as a group and share our gratitude for many community blessings. This year, one blessing tops our Perry Hall/Kingsville list of thanks of which we are so extremely thankful – the continuing recovery of Perry Hall High School shooting victim and, most importantly, survivor, Daniel Borowy.
You are invited to attend a community concert to benefit Daniel Borowy on Sunday, Nov. 25, at 2 p.m. at the Perry Hall High School Auditorium, 4601 Ebenezer Road, in Perry Hall. The concert features the music of the Chesapeake Concert Band.
Don Mattes, with the volunteer 45-member Chesapeake Concert Band, says, "We want this to be a true community event, lending aid to the young man who was shot the first day of school." You may remember this band from other community concerts, including two fundraisers for the Katie and Will Brady Memorial Foundation, founded after the fatal accident on the Bel Air bypass a few years ago. "Those concerts really brought the community together and provided much comfort to the Brady family. As an organization, we feel a deep obligation to community service and want to help in any way we can. That's why we are doing this concert."
As added inspiration to attend, Don concludes, "We need to make everyone aware that this concert is being held as an opportunity for a community to join together and show love and support to a fine young man and his family. We really want to pack the auditorium and can do so with your help."
Admission is free but free-will donations are gratefully accepted. All proceeds collected from this concert benefit the Daniel B. Borowy Irrevocable Trust. Also, at the event, Prayers for Daniel bracelets and anti-bullying T-shirts will be on sale.
A huge thank you is sent to the Divas for Daniel, a group of ladies working tirelessly on events for the Borowy family and producers of the flier for the Chesapeake Community Concert event. Thank you also to Debbie Redmer, member of the Perry Hall Improvement Association and Don Mattes, of the Chesapeake Concert Band, for sharing this information with us.
C'mon Perry Hall, Kingsville and surrounding neighborhoods, let's make a great show of our thanks and support for Daniel and his family. Let's have the line to get into the benefit concert wind all the way down Ebenezer Road!
