The Arbutus Senior Center, at 855 Sulphur Spring Road, will celebrate its first anniversary next week with a series of special events.
Monday, Aug. 22: Home Instead Senior Care will provide coffee, tea, juice and doughnuts, 8:30-10 a.m. A 9:30 a.m. talk about the benefits of massages will be followed by two hours of mini massages from La Bodi' Massage from 10 a.m.-noon. RSVP by Aug. 19.
Tuesday, Aug. 23: Edward Jones Co. will provide a free lunch of pizza, drinks and salad at noon. Drums Alive will perform, 12:45-1:45 p.m. RSVP by Aug. 19.
Wednesday, Aug. 24: Cake and punch served by Ellicott City Health and Rehab Center at 12:45 p.m. Nancy Sings will provide entertainment. RSVP by Aug. 17.
Thursday, Aug. 25: Hot dogs, chips, drinks and desserts provided by the Charlestown retirement community at noon. At 1 p.m., hear about the American Sign Language classes that the senior center will offer on Thursdays starting in September. RSVP by Aug. 22.
Friday, Aug. 26: The senior center's mini crab feast. The event is sold out.
