A Lansdowne man wanted by Baltimore County police in connection with the death of an 18-year-old Brooklyn resident was arrested in Mobile County, Ala., late Wednesday afternoon, according to a release from county police.
Larry Eugene Horton, 37, of the 700 block of Rambo Court, was arrested by U.S. Marshals in a hotel in Bayou La Batre, a small fishing village in the southwestern corner of the state. He surrendered without incident, according to a release from county police.
Horton is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Ryan Wesley Jackson.
He was still being held in Alabama pending extradition, police said Oct. 24.
Jackson, of the 3600-block of West Bay Avenue, in Brooklyn, was found dead in the 5500 block of Pennington Avenue, in Baltimore, by Baltimore City police Oct. 15 after being hit multiple times with a hatchet. The case has been ruled a homicide.
After not hearing from Jackson for two days, his girlfriend reported him missing Oct. 14, police said.
Family members told police Oct. 15 they found blood in a residence in the 700 block of Rambo Court, police said.
The family members, police said, checked the residence because they believed Jackson may have visited there and went to look for him.
