Just before noon Tuesday, Aug. 23, Baltimore County police pulled a stolen white Chrysler minivan from a pond at Hillcrest Park in Lansdowne.

Elise Armacost, a spokeswoman for the Baltimore County Police Department, said the police and fire department responded to a call about the vehicle at 7:20 a.m.

Once at the scene, a police dive team was deployed to recover the van. No one was found inside the vehicle, Armacost said.

A police officer at the scene said the vehicle was reported stolen yesterday, but Armacost could not confirm that.

The officer added that the minivan was apparently rolled into the water from a hill overlooking the pond.

After the soaked van covered in aquatic plants was pulled from the water, dents and scratches on the body were evident. Police at the scene said it was unclear when the vehicle sustained that damage.
