Arbutus volunteers respond to request to rescue person on Buzzard Rock Trail

Among the 57 calls for medical and fire-rescue service the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department received Oct. 9-16 were the following:

1000 Hilltop Circle, 8:14 p.m. Oct. 14.Crews responded to the report of an injured person on the campus of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. One seriously injured person taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Interstate 695 at Frederick Road, 3:26 p.m. Oct. 11. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Catonsville and Westview career stations responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident with injury on the Baltimore Beltway in Catonsville and only found property damage.

5200 Southwestern Boulevard, 12:48 a.m. Oct. 11. Crews responded to the report of an auto fire at the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department station and extinguished a small electrical fire.

South Hilltop Road at Frederick Road, Buzzard Rocks Trail, 4:58 p.m. Oct. 9. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Catonsville, Texas, Westview and Woodlawn career station responded to a call for a rescue in Patapsco Valley State Park and recovered one seriously injured person from a cliff. The victim was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Carville Avenue at Sulphur Spring Road, 2:12 p.m. Oct. 9. Crews responded to the report of a brush fire in Arbutus and extinguished a small mulch fire.
