Baltimore Highlands: Indoor tailgate party, dance team and dance contests part of football fantasy fundraiser

On Saturday, Oct. 1, the Wilkens Police and Community Relations Council will sponsor a Football Fantasy dance at the Arbutus Town Hall, 1349 Stevens Ave, from 8 p.m. to midnight.

The $20 admission includes an indoor tailgate party, deejay, a performance by the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, dance team along with two dance contests.

Dress in your favorite team's colors. President Lorna Rudnikas promises that no penalty flags will be thrown.

Christ United Methodist Church, 2832 Florida Ave., will host the annual spaghetti dinner 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, for $7.

It's time for the goblins to come out again at Southwest Area Park, better known as Haunted Hollows during this season.

This year, Bob's Amazing Mask of Death will be featured.

This marks the 27th year for this Halloween tradition, which Stacy Owens Burke has headed from the beginning.

The trail will be set up on Thursday, Oct. 13, from 7 to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, Oct 14-15, 7 p.m. to midnight. Children 3-12 will be charged $3; those older, $5.

Baltimore County Department of Parks and Recreation sponsors this well-known activity, which raises money for local youth programs.

Volunteers invest plenty of enthusiasm and energy in preparing the trail, which requires about 20 minutes to walk.

American Legion Post 195, 2603 Virginia Ave., will host the yearly bull and oyster roast from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6.

The $35 cost includes a menu of pit beef and ham, oysters on the half shell, oyster stew, sausage with onions, vegetables, cheese, rolls, cake and coffee.
